<p><span id="more-1718"></span>I used to be a big personal development/self-help junkie. You know, Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Stephen Covey, etc&#8230;</p>
<p>My brother got me into the stuff after I graduated from University in 2004.</p>
<p>I read all the books, listened to thousands of hours of audios in my car and attended workshops and more.</p>
<p>The very first thing they teach you about is goal setting.</p>
<p><strong>In 2006, I set the big goal of training a UFC champ.</strong></p>
<p>Like they taught me, I didn&#8217;t judge myself and say, &quot;That&#8217;ll never happen.&quot;</p>
<p>I set the goal. But more importantly, I began to work on achieving this goal.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what happened next AFTER I&#8217;d set this goal:</p>
<ol>
<li>Started working with my first mixed martial artist in April 2006 (Jeff Joslin) &#8211; I approached him with my ideas</li>
<li>That same year, Jeff won the APEX world welterweight title and fought in the UFC</li>
<li>Started training a half dozen local fighters in my home gym in parent&#8217;s basement</li>
<li>Constant study and testing of various strength and conditioning methods with my MMA athletes</li>
<li>Published the Ultimate MMA S&amp;C guide in April 2008 &#8211; to date it&#8217;s been used by over 600 athletes around the world</li>
<li>Started and closed a 1500 sq. ft general fitness facility because it wasn&#8217;t my passion (Apr-Sept 2009)</li>
<li>Realigned myself with my passion and set the goal of cornering a UFC fighter in January 2010</li>
<li>Cornered Claude Patrick for his UFC debut and sick victory via guillotine in June 2010</li>
</ol>
<p>And I&#8217;ve got some big stuff in the works, which should be ready by September that will get me even closer to my ultimate goal.</p>

<li>Adductors (groin/inner thigh)</li>
</ol>
<p>It not only mobilizes and lengthens these muscles, but it also improves your balance, co-ordination and strength at challenging ranges of motion.</p>
<p>Plus it takes the femur through a good rotational range of motion in the joint capsule &#8211; something that we don&#8217;t do often and doing so with this exercise will help keep the capsule from tightening up and limiting your kicks. </p>

<p>OK , so maybe you won&#8217;t get THIS&nbsp;mobile, but if you can do this exercise in perfect form, you&#8217;ll be pretty good and you&#8217;ll have healthy hips.</p>

The exercise is called the Cossack Warrior and I learned it from Scott Sonnon and my buddy Adam Steer.</p>

<p>If you can&#8217;t do the full Cossack Warrior, I also show you how to work your way up to it, so make sure you start at whatever level you&#8217;re able and work up.</p>
<p>I&nbsp;always tell my athletes &#8211; stop the set the instant that form falters. Even better &#8211; stop it just before you lose good form.</p>
<p>Your goal should be to perform 20 reps (10 per side) of the Cossack Warrior in perfect form with decent depth.</p>
